A Question About Twitter Preferences

This is more of a question than an actual post, but I’m super curious about people’s Twitter preferences and have no where else to ask this, so here we go!

For me, when I follow someone on Twitter, I expect for their posts to just be them talking.  I follow a lot of people form different industries, like musicians, YouTubers, voice actors, and they pretty much just talk about what they’re doing on a day to day basis, along with career news and updates.  But, I also follow podcasts, and they mainly talk about stuff relating to their podcast, or the topic of their podcast like specific anime news etc etc.
I’m wondering what people’s preference is, like do you just expect people to talk about whatever they want when you follow them on Twitter?  Does it depend on what type of account it is?  Because a few times I’ve debated making another Twitter account but never really cared to, and it’s never really affected me, but I know for something like a podcast or YouTube channel someone would want their personal Twitter separate  from something that may get huge.  But at the same time I feel like that’s kind of not a big deal either?  Like one Twitter account seems fine to me, I’m just so curious to know what people’s Twitter preferences are.  Would you unfollow someone if they started talking too much about something you didn’t sign up for/weren’t expecting them to Tweet about?  I know that would be the case for a Facebook page, but they operate very differently in my opinion.
And, since this is still fairly new, just wanted to plug my new blog The Blind Nerd!  I have a book review going up tomorrow, and generally talk about nerdy theories and news and anything that doesn’t fit over here.

  1. Wish I could provide some helpful insight here, but I don’t really use twitter. Specifically because it is only just people saying whatever comes to mind, and I’m generally not interested most of the time.

If I were to follow someone on Twitter, I think it would have to be for a specific purpose. Like if they posted updates about something I cared about a lot and needed to know about quickly, but that’s an extremely short list of topics for me.
